Considered by many to be the birthplace of surfing in South Africa. While the waves aren't huge it remains a popular beach to surf and an ideal beach for swimming. The water is generally calm and child-friendly and much warmer than the beaches on the Atlantic Seaboard. It's blue flag status means international environmental and quality standards. Facilities include showers, surf shops and surf schools, coffee shops and restaurants.
